I was born and raised in upstate New York. I moved west after college where I majored in Elementary Education and Theater. I’ve been involved in education for 23 years. I’ve taught in New York, Washington, Rhode Island, and California and in every grade, K-5. In addition to teaching 1st grade, I also work for the Monterey Bay Area Math Project out of UCSC providing professional development around math education. I LOVE teaching, spending quality time with my phenomenal boys and husband, reading, creating art, singing loudly, camping, swimming and splashing about, watching soccer, being with friends, and playing with mathematical ideas.

Hi there, I’m Brittany! I am over-the-moon excited to be apart of Team Chameleon! I have been facilitating learning and curiosity in third graders for many years in a Project Based Learning community.

I am a proud alumna of California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo (Go Mustangs!) where I received my undergraduate degree in Agribusiness. While studying, I found myself drawn to classes in child psychology and elementary education as I completed my electives. My experiences in these classes coupled with my dream to be a teacher when I was young, invigorated my desire to work with students. After graduating from Cal Poly, I attended California State University, Fullerton to complete a Masters in Education with Technology Integration.

I grew up in Southern California with my mom, dad, sister, and brother. Upon receiving my Masters, I moved up to the Bay Area where I appreciate the enriching diversity, and access to the beach, mountains, and bustling cities. My younger sister and I live together in the South Bay and I visit my family in SoCal as often as I can.

I am passionate about health, travel, and technology as a tool in education. If I’m not in the classroom, I am hiking, trying out new plant-based recipes, or playing board games with my friends and family.

I am thrilled to be a Chameleon, honored to be a part of the community, and very excited to learn more about our students and their families!
